Announcement: No Longer a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hello,

It will come as no big surprise to those of you still working with me as my clients that I have decided to drop my Stampin' Up Demonstrator contract.  It has been a great 10 plus years of crafting with Stampin' Up! and with you, but my busy life has not allowed me to dedicate myself to the business for quite awhile now.  I will continue to love their product (their paper is still my all time favorite and I love crafting with ink that I know will coordinate with the paper I have on hand - and knowing that the paper will always be available when I need it!), and to craft (of course, it is like eating or breathing to me and to many of you!), but I will not be selling the Stampin' Up! product line. I will work with my private clients to help design custom projects, holiday cards, etc. and be available to you if you are interested in talking shop. Email me if you'd like to touch base. For now the blog will remain open, but we'll see what the future holds!

It truly has been a busy year!  My son is entering his senior year in High School and my middle child is starting her freshman year this year - how did that happen?!  My youngest is keeping me grounded, and on my toes, as she enters her 3rd grade year.  & We are all making the most of this summer together. Happy Thanksgiving Card with Skeleton Leaves

I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are spending it with loved ones and take a moment to be grateful for all that is good in life. In a world that is seemingly gone crazy it is easy to forget how much good there is all around us.

If you would like to recreate this look, here are some tips:

• The background is done with a clear block stamping technique seen here. However I've used three color of inks for added depth and misted the block prior to stamping for more depth.
  
  
• I've used a long retired skeleton leaf set, but our current Vintage Leaves Stamp Set has the same look and approximate size - and, better yet, it can be purchased bundled with Leaflets Framelits Dies so you don't have to cut out each leaf by hand! 
  
  
• I've colored my stamps with a Multicolor Stamping Stampin' Write Markers Direct to Stamp Technique seen here, but you could also consider a Multicolor Stamping with Versamark Technique seen here.
  
  
• Crystal Effects adds sheen to my leaves - a technique I use often which can be seen here, here and here (along with many other past samples on my blog!)

Star Celebration Card Inspired by Child's Artwork!

I'm happy to be sitting down to share with you today! This celebration card was inspired by my daughter's art station in my craft room. (I'll explain below, I promise! But, if you are impatient like me, simply look down at the lower photos ... you'll see what I was going for!).

Emma was sitting at her station, working away on her own art, as I did some tidying and bill paying. When I walked over to see what she was up to, inspiration struck and I had to sit down and craft right in that moment!  

  

You could recreate this look in so many ways - such as a heart punch for a Valentine or anniversary card, a flower for a Mother's Day card ... the options are only limited by your punches/dies and your imagination. Give it a try. It is a completely forgiving technique!    

But now, woe is me, I guess it is back to the bill paying!
